The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic continues to exact a devastating toll across the world. The urgent need for rapid, coordinated, and effective responses to the pandemic has been complicated by many factors. One of the primary challenges has been the difficulty with which scientists, policy-makers, and the general public have had accessing trustworthy information about the novel coronavirus. To address this critical issue, Profs. Ambuj Singh and Joe Walther co-organized a continuing seminar series: "Issues, Approaches, and Consequences of the COVID-19 Crisis". The series, which is online and open to the public for free, features hour-long weekly seminars by a diverse roster of experts from UCSB and Cottage Health System on topics pertaining to the pandemic. Two seminars feature Mind & Machine Intelligence faculty, with Prof. Francesco Bullo presenting "Current Epidemiological Models: Scientific Basis and Evaluation" and Profs. Singh and Yu-Xiang Wang speaking on "Coping with Heterogeneity and Uncertainty of COVID-19 Datasets".
