Barry Giesbrecht to co-direct the Institute for Collaborative Biotechnologies
Prof. Barry Giesbrecht named Co-Director of the multi-disciplinary center, replacing Prof. Scott Grafton.
The Institute for Collaborative Biotechnologies (ICB) is an Army-funded multi-campus center started in 2003 that comprises UCSB, which leads the project, and its partners at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), and various industry leaders. For several years, the ICB has been led by Prof. Scott Grafton; now, Scott has decided to end his tenure at the head of the ICB to focus on other research pursuits. Fortunately, Scott is leaving the ICB in capable hands, with Mind & Machine Intelligence faculty member Barry Giesbrecht named Prof. Grafton's replacement as ICB Co-Director.
Congratulations to Barry and to the ICB! More information can be found here from the ICB.
